Tech Oddity

Here is some recent site activity:
The readers from FeedBurner went from 1 up to 4 and then down to 3 then 2 then 1 again.
The forum has one new member and no new posts. At this pretty much nothing post rate I’m starting to wonder why I even have a forum. I’ll still keep it though, maybe it will have more posts in the future.
My logs show a few more people have downloaded the WPFVAUAS_Daemon utility. Of which I need to find a better name for. The current one is hard to type and remember.
A few views of the pages and downloads of files from links on the How-To Geek forum. Makes since as that is the only place with links to my site at the moment.

Edit: Corrected name of utility. It was listed as wpafvaas_daemon a name it might have been not what I picked.

I’ve added a new utility to my site.
Network Send Keys is a program that lets you have hotkeys that send key presses to a local application and the same application on networked computers.
I also added a License to the page that basically says do whatever you want just give me credit and don’t change for the program.

I have updated the about page to list my other goal with this web site of trying out the whole blog, articles and others idea.
Thus far the articles far has worked fairly well.
The blog part though not so much. I just have site updates and no real blog content.

Ok. I’ve done a few updates to the site and will write about them now.
I updated my about page to list my actual age of 22. I decided I didn’t need to hide it for privacy reasons. I was just being paranoid.
Added a subscribe to blog sidebar section with FeedBurner button to show the amount of subscribed users to the blog feed. A whole 1 readers at the moment :)
Also I’ll think about adding email subscription if anyone wants it.
Added about section to sidebar. I now need to update it.
Removed Meta section as I’m the only WordPress user and I know the admin url.
Updated theme to replace WordPress comment links with forum links. I think the forum is more manageable then WordPress comments. Though as of yet I haven’t got any so I don’t really know for sure yet.
Updated stylesheet to expand sitebar size. It appears this broke the display on some blog pages. I’ll have to look in to this and figure out what happened.

I’ve now added a forum for commenting on the articles and the web site.
I think a forum is better then the WordPress comments for the pages.
I haven’t decided yet about blog comments.

Updates:
Known Folders renamed to “Working with Known Folders”.
Added page “Working with Known Folders/Shortcuts” to list all the shell protocol shortcuts with descriptions and the lowest supported OS.
Renamed “Restore Deleted Windows Sidebar Gadget” to “Restore Default Windows Sidebar Gadgets” and updated article to be more detailed and added some screen shots.

I have now added the howto ‘Remove Windows XP and return to preinstalled Windows Vista’ to the site.
This is my first howto with screen shots.
I welcome any comments on it.

I have added the How To page ‘Restore Deleted Windows Sidebar Gadget’ to the howto section.
It’s not real detailed at the moment but I plan to update it when I have time.

I have just updated my about page with more information about the web site and myself.

I have created a few new pages within the last couple days:
About/Software – Software I use. I plan to update this to list software I use on my computer in case anyone wants to know.
Howto/Dual Boot – Page will cover how to dual boot and some issues one can enconter. Right now it just has links to How-To Geek articles. I plan on writing articles on removing Windows XP and returning to just Vista, sharing data between the OSes, using EasyBCD if VistaBootPro doesn’t work, find Windows XP drivers and other related things I think of.
Howto/Blue Screen Error – Dealing with Blue Screen Errors. Just lists info about it right now. I plan to list common Blue Screen Errors and how to fix them, finding help for other errors and more.
Tweaks – Any tweaks I think of to put. Put now I just have one registry tweak. I don’t use it but it was requested on the forum so I added it.
